Pawtuckaway Pond Description

Otherwise known as Pawtuckaway Lake, it has a reputation for being one of the best warm water fishing spots in southern NH. The wooded and rocky shoreline is lightly developed with summer and year round homes. Summer boating can sometimes be heavy, but only during peak months, and can be avoided by fishing during the off hours of early morning and late evening. Anglers can choose to fish either shallow, weedy areas or deep, rocky ones on Pawtuckaway Lake. Popular Pawtuckaway State Park is located here on the western shore and offers excellent camping facilities. There are 3 free, state owned boat launches with one being located on the southern side of the lake at the dam for the Pawtuckaway Stream outlet and another being on the northwestern side at the very tip of Fundy Cove. Many people come here annually to fish and camp.Average ice-out is mid April.
