[list=] I don't usually fish for trout in rivers, although rooster tails cut across the flow seems to work well when I do hook trout in rivers. Otherwise, on smaller streams looks for debris across the water (leave piles, natural dams, etc.) And rocks with 'holes' underneath where trout will hide.
