The NH Fish and Game Dept. manages Bow Lake for Rainbow and Brown trout. Spring fishing for these trout species is excellent, while fishing in October and November has produced good catches also, primarily on trolled streamer patterns. Good catches are made by ice fisherman. A large lake with many small islands and a varied and wooded shoreline with light development, Bow Lake is best known for it's excellent Smallmouth Bass fishing.
You can access Bow Lake form the town beach, however no fishing is allowed from the beach.

Bow Lake is a 1,160-acre water body located in Strafford and Rockingham counties in eastern New Hampshire, United States, in the towns of Strafford and Northwood. Its outlet is the Isinglass River. Bow Lake, Strafford, with its clear water and excellent largemouth and smallmouth bass fishing.

Fall fishermen should target rocky points and islands with steep dropoffs, boulders and other structures, as in the fall bass move into what is now cooler water to feed. Anglers equipped with jigging spoons and large jerk baits will attract bass as they come up from deeper water. Bow Lake also contains rainbow trout; cooling temperatures will find fish close to the top. Anglers trolling spoons and streamers should do well.

Bow Lake consists of points, many islands, ledges, boulders, shoreline brush riprap, inlets and numerous docks.
